What is CIP for Heat Exchanger?
Recent plate heat exchanger cleaning trends are moving to CIP cleaning.
Disassembling and cleaning the heat exchanger will add additional costs, such as replacing the heat shield or gasket, and shorten the life of the heat exchanger.
In heavy industry, cleaning the large heat exchangers can be costly and difficult to disassemble once.
The new trend is to connect the hose to the supply/return piping without disassemble the heat exchanger and to circulate the cleaning agent with the bubble jet. It increases 5 times cleaning effect then traditional simple cleaning.

Effect of CIP
If disassemble and manually cleaning the heat exchanger takes are 100%, the Bubble Jet CIP has a 95 % to 98 % cleaning effect. The scale begins to accumulates as soon as the heat exchanger starts running, so 95% effect is close to 100%.
Conditions for Disassemble CIP cleaning of plate heat exchangers
To clean the heat exchanger, you must have a supply/return connection ' T ' to connect the heat exchanger to the cleaning equipment as shown in the figure below.
